Directions:

From Ash or Maple (oneways) go west on Boone. Boone will vere Right and go downhill towards the Sans Souci West Mobile Park. Go through the main gate on road 500s (red sign office). Take a Right on road 700s (red sign office) Proceed to The Sans Souci Club House. Parking is available at the club house.

The June Meeting will be featuring Cooking, Preparation and Preserving Techniques of Mushrooms and Fungi.

One of our special members, Sophie Dufrasness, will be preparing a dish(es) using some of the mushrooms that were collected this year, and also some familiar store purchased mushrooms. Sophie did a presentation for our club in the past and we all enjoyed her cooking.
Sandra Chadwick, our club Treasurer, will be demonstrating, sharing recipes and offering advice on how to preserve and use mushrooms and fungi creatively for cooking and other uses. Sandra is a long time member and the Treasurer for the SMC. She is also an expert when it comes to cooking and preserving shrooms.

Spokane Mushroom Club is in need of volunteers.  Help make the club more useful and interesting to everyone by participating. We need Volunteers for organizing club events and to act as foray leaders. Being a foray leader is a great way to learn. If you already know some basic edible mushrooms, but want to learn more, this would be a great way to start. Our Foray chairman will work with you to increase your knowledge and be more confident in guiding forays.

Meetings

The club meets at 7 pm on the last Monday of each month, except for November, December, and January at the San Souci West, Recreation Center. 3231 W. Boone Ave., Spokane. Guests are welcome. (The recreation center is located at the mobile home park office building)

Meetings begin with hands on identification of fruitings in season (bring your mushrooms at 6:30), followed by a very short business meeting and then the program. Refreshments will be served.
